"Happening" to Celebrate Unveiling of

MIRROR by Doug Aitken

at Seattle Art Museum

To celebrate his new work MIRROR at Seattle Art Museum, Doug Aitken is curating a “Happening” this Sunday, March 24th in Downtown Seattle.

The event will feature musicians from the Seattle Symphony playing works by legendary minimalist composers Terry Riley and Steve Reich and include an afternoon of conversations with Brad Cloepfil and Rodney Graham, among others. First Avenue in front of the museum will be closed and food trucks and other activities will take place throughout the afternoon and evening. The museum will also offer free admission and open extended hours (10 a.m. – 9 p.m.) on March 24. More information can be found on the official site for the installation.

Cherevichkiotvichki AW13

The new season of Cherevichkiotvichki was showcased in Paris during FW, in the most unique and original display.

Titled, 'The PART TWO', the AW13 range ''continues the theme of abandoned spaces, old age and texture, coming from the old Eastern Block''.

Designer Victoria Andrejeva takes her influences and applies them in an original way, using the simplest ingredients, yet all thoughtfully and carefully created.

Now in it's 4th collection, the designer is exhibiting her range of mens and womens shoes, along with bags and accessories, in the central location in Paris.

Over 4 days, the collection is able to viewed, inside a sculptural display. The inspiration comes from an old water-tower, which was present near the designers' hometown in Lithuania.

AW13 sees new elements introduced, such as aged buffalo hide, pressed camel leather, horse skin, linen twines and various heel constructions.

We featured Victoria Andrejeva, designer and founder of Cherevichkiotvichki, in our 'Portrait Series' section last issue, from which, her label has grown from strength to strength.
